LAC recalls contributions of Aboriginal Peoples in the First World War

A timely reminder of the contributions to Canada's war effort of aboriginal men and women, including Métis who may have had some British (mainly Scottish) ancestry, is in this blog post from Library and Archives Canada.

"The exact number of Aboriginal soldiers who lost their lives during the First World War is not known. It is estimated that at least 300 men were killed during battles or died from illness, such as tuberculosis."
