Red hair in Scotland

According to the BBC Alastair Moffat, managing director of ScotlandsDNA, is pursuing a project to map the number of possible carriers of the genes responsible for red hair in Scotland and to explain why so many Scots, perhaps ten times the world average, are so afflicted blessed.

Are so "afflicted"?! Whew! Glad you corrected yourself. "Blessed" is much more appropriate.
